No hostels in the area, and I didn't feel like sleeping in my tent in the rain. It's a pain taking it down when it's pouring out, then having to drive the car all day in wet clothes. Drove to Sheridan, Wyoming and pulled into the State Information Center which was closed. Parked right next to an RV. There was a man and woman sitting in lawn chairs beside it. They saw my bumper stickers and asked me about Alaska--that's were they were headed. They gave me some coffee and we sat and talked for a while. Then I crawled into the back seat of my car and went to sleep. Woke up at 5:30 AM and headed toward Devil's Tower. |
